1st Week Reflection

I play the clarinet and yes, I got my first choice. I'm not too happy since i can barely play and can't make a proper sound out of it. No, it hasn't, its really difficult. Yes, it has. I practice at least two or three times but can't seem to get it.

Research Two Wind Instruments

The two instruments that I want to pick is the Flute and Clarinet.

Both instrument are not brass but woodwind. Unlike woodwind instruments with reeds, a flute is an aerophone or reedless wind instrument that produces its sound from the flow of air across an opening. A person who plays are called Flute players or Flautist. Most flutes are tubular, but some are globular or other shapes. Some flutes are played by blowing air into a mouthpiece, which directs the air against the edge of a hole else-where in the flute. Some flutes are held vertically and are played by blowing air against the edge of a hold in the end of the flute. Some modern flutes are made from wood that produces a different sound from metal flutes. These wooden flutes generally have metal keys and mechanisms. Most flutes are made of metal.   More expensive flutes may be plated with silver. Some modern flutes are made from wood that produces a different sound from metal flutes. These wooden flutes generally have metal keys and mechanisms. Most flutes are made of metal.

The clarinet is a woodwind instrument played with a single reed. Clarinets come in many different sizes, with different pitch ranges. Though there are more than a dozen different modern clarinet types, the most common ones used in orchestras and bands are the B flat and A clarinets. The bass clarinet, which is much bigger than the standard and has an upwardly curved bell, is also most used in modern bands and orchestras. Most modern clarinet bodies are made out of African blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon). The design of the clarinet was improved by the end of the eighteenth century. The two keys gave way to five or six, giving the instrument more pitch control. Composers and virtuoso performers began to exploit one of the signal characteristics of the clarinet, its adapt dynamic range, from whisper soft to loud and penetrating.
